Training Development
Finally A
Kanban Board
That knows what Training development actually looks like.
Course Flow is a purpose-built project board for managing training and capability development in a BPM program. Track courses from first idea to live delivery — with participant feedback built right in.
One-time purchase. Runs locally. Your data, your files. No subscription, no cloud, no IT ticket.

The problem
Training development is
not a generic task.
So why are BPM teams managing it in tools that were built for software sprints,
marketing campaigns, and sales pipelines?
Spreadsheets that nobody updates
The course tracker lives in Excel, the feedback comes in through email, and the status lives in someone’s head. Works fine — until it doesn’t.
Generic kanban boards with no BPM context
Jira is built for software engineers. Trello doesn’t know what an SME sign-off is. You spend half your time configuring the tool instead of using it.
Feedback that goes nowhere
Post-training surveys land in a folder. Someone promises to review them. They don’t. The same problems show up in the next course run.
SaaS subscriptions for things you don’t use
You’re paying $15/person/month for features built for 50-person product teams. Your BPM training team has three people and one course in flight at a time.
“I’ve built training programs on three continents. The hardest part was never the content — it was keeping track of where everything was, what still needed review, and what participants actually thought afterward. I built Course Flow because I needed it myself.”

What’s Inside
Everything a project needs.
Nothing it doesn’t.
multi-project Kanban
Run multiple courses and training initiatives in parallel. Each project gets its own board with five stages: Backlog, To Do, In Progress, Review, and Done.
Markdown task notes
Every card has a full markdown notes field. Add context, links, decisions, SME names — whatever you need to make the handoff clean when someone else picks up the task.
Participant feedback, built in
Send participants a feedback link after each session. Responses go straight into Course Flow — no forms tool, no survey platform, no email thread to manage.
Project Templates
Start a new project with a full task list already populated. Course Flow ships with four ready-to-use templates based on real training workflows.
Three-Tier access control
Set up Viewer, Editor, and Admin passwords. Stakeholders can check the board without accidentally moving anything. Your lead trainer has full edit access. You control the admin panel.
Git backup, built in
Every file is plain text on disk. Hook up a Git repository and Course Flow auto-commits your changes — giving you full version history with zero extra effort.
Built-in Templates
your first project is
Already planned for you.
Course Flow ships with four templates drawn from real BPM training programs.
Start a new project and every task is already there — just assign priorities and get
moving.

Why local first
Your data lives
Where it belongs.
01
No subscription, ever
You pay once. There’s no monthly fee that creeps up, no annual renewal to approve, and no pricing tier you eventually outgrow.
02
No IT approval needed
Course Flow runs locally. There’s no data leaving your network, no vendor security questionnaire to fill out, and no procurement process to trigger.
03
Your files, your format
Every project, task, and feedback response is a plain markdown file on your disk. Open them in any text editor. Move them, back them up, or archive them — no export needed.
04
Still works as a team tool
Run Course Flow on a shared office server and your whole team accesses it through their browser. Password-protect by role. It’s as collaborative as you need it to be.
What “local-first” actually means for you
When a SaaS vendor shuts down, raises prices, or changes their terms, your data is at risk and your workflow breaks. Course Flow has none of those failure modes.
The files are yours. The app runs on your machine. If you stop using Course Flow tomorrow, every task, every note, and every piece of feedback is still sitting right there in a folder you can open with any text editor.
That’s not a technical detail. That’s a different relationship with your tools.

Common Questions
Things people ask
Before they buy.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Setup is a double-click on a script (Mac, Windows, or Linux). If Node.js isn’t installed, the script handles it. Once it’s running you just open your browser, same as any other web app.
Can my whole team use it, or just me?
Both. Run it on your laptop for solo use, or put it on a shared server and your whole team accesses it through their browser. You set up Viewer, Editor, and Admin passwords — or leave it open if everyone should have full access.
What happens to my data if I stop using it?
Nothing bad. Every project, task, and feedback response is stored as a plain markdown file in a folder on your machine. You can open those files in any text editor, move them anywhere, or archive them. There’s no export needed and no data left behind on someone else’s server.
Is this the same as a BPM modeling tool?
No. Tools like ARIS, Signavio, or Celonis are built for modeling and mining your business processes. Course Flow is built for managing the projects that build your BPM capability — specifically, training and course development. They solve different problems and work well alongside each other.
What does “all future updates included” mean?
You pay once and get every update to Course Flow going forward — new features, bug fixes, and improvements — at no additional cost. Download the new version and replace the old one. Simple.
Can I use this for client work as a consultant?
A standard license covers your own use. If you’re deploying Course Flow inside client environments or reselling it as part of an engagement, a Consultant License is available. Drop us a note and we’ll sort it out.
What if it doesn’t work for me?
Course Flow is built from real experience running BPM training programs, and the setup takes minutes — so you’ll know quickly whether it fits. If you genuinely can’t make it work, reach out and we’ll make it right.
How does this relate to the What’s Your Baseline? podcast and books?
Course Flow is one part of the BPM OS — a set of tools built to complement the ideas in the podcast and the books. If you’ve been listening and want to actually put structure around your learning program, this is where you start.
