“Successful Process Mining Projects” Book Launch
A little different note from me today—no announcement of a new episode, but the announcement of my new book, which was officially released yesterday, on September 15.
Yes, you read that right; I have written a second book. This time it is about ‘Successful Process Mining Projects,’ and it covers the whole process for identifying if Process Mining is the right thing for your organization and how it fits into the process/solution lifecycle. I am also talking about how to select a tool and how to buy and implement it (but a bit shorter than in the 380 pages of the first book 😉
What is in the book?
But the core of the book is a six-step process for defining and running a Process Mining project from soup-to-nuts in short iterations so that you deliver value quickly and create excitement about this new data-driven approach in your organization. Or, as one of our podcast guests once said, “Process Mining is the speedometer for your processes”—I couldn’t agree more.
And to make things tangible, I will walk you through the six-step approach, covering the example of a global medical device company that wants to evaluate if Process Mining is the right thing for them using one of their end-to-end processes as an example.

To make it even more realistic, I provide all the necessary files to follow along with the six steps in answering the questions above. And, of course, I deliver all “solutions,” such as data transformation workflows or process diagrams (as graphics and in *.bpmn format) as well.
This allows you to practice the content of the book in your tool stack—please let me know if you find something that I have not found in the data set 🙂

But there is also access to the additional freebies—all graphics of the book (licensed as a non-commercial Creative Commons PDF, which means you can use the slides to make the case in your organization if you want to get started) and a checklist that you can use when doing your Process Mining projects so that you don’t forget any of the tips that are in the content.
